Established in Oct. 2012 in Myrtle Beach, SC., Earth Travel Apparel has now expanded its business into one of Delmarva’s favorite resort towns, Ocean City.
Earth Travel Apparel is created to operate and offer a sense of value for nature and community that has been upheld for the initial two years traveling and operating their online store. Those same values will now be upheld in this new store that has opened in Ocean City, Md.
Jeff Chadwick started producing eco-friendly and hand designed t-shirts while in college and his girlfriend Blaire Virden expanded a women’s collection within the brand offering casual and boutique wear encompassing the value of E.T.A. Virden is from Ellicot City, Md. and Chadwick has known for quite sometime that he wanted to be by the beach which made Ocean City the perfect destination for the duo.
“We traveled around doing tradeshows, festivals and events like that, we went on the road to build a following,” Chadwick said. “What we were able to do on the road at these huge festivals is almost something you cant pay for in a sense.”
The quality-handcrafted items that this company offers are inspired by the people they have met in their years of traveling. All E.T.A designs are locally printed, allowing the brand to grow while maintaining value and commitment.
The Ocean City shop owners say they don’t want to become one of those huge companies, in fact they say about 85% of their clients at the store are local and they have made the decision to stay open year round. E.T.A.’s shop in Ocean City is the only store that carries their product for now, however, they are working on their Spring 2016 styles and will begin shopping them around the West Coast and beyond.
The store also carries items from local artists and designers, filling their values of keeping everything local.
“We couldn’t of asked for a better year, we’re really happy to be here and really blessed,” Chadwick added.
